Description of solution
The ground thresholds Oberopfingen is currently impassable for aquatic organisms, such as fish or micro-organisms moving on the ground. By converting the concrete sleepers into shallow ramps, the passability for aquatic organisms is achieved. A sole ramp provides passability over the entire width of the watercourse. The watercourse section is extended and creates new valuable habitat. Above the rough ramp, the ecological development of the watercourse is to be promoted. By removing the embankment protection and relocating the existing dike, the Iller should be given the opportunity for its own development. The extensive excavations in the foreland and the development of a constantly flowing foreland channel lead to a cross-linking of the Iller and its floodplains. The aim is the development of a softwood floodplain as well as the creation of additional flooding areas. The measures are part of the project Agile Iller.
