Green ring & blue-green network: The City of Lodz demo case - NAIAD project

Aims of the Demo case<ol><li>Gathering of evidence of the scale of the risk and vulnerability of society, and capacity of natural systems to lower the exposure.</li><li>The justification for &amp; securing of city green ring &amp; blue-green network, establishing of local spatial plans protecting ecosystem service donor areas.</li><li>Defining, dissemination, &amp; adoption by the City the protocols for efficient engagement of blue-green infrastructure in building up the natural capital.</li><li>Identification of key components of ecosystem insurance system for the city, demonstration of real costs of business as usual in long-term, in comparison to ecosystem service-based management.</li><li>Development of economic tools and models to support decision-making system.</li><li>Development of business models to establish public-private partnerships in the area of building up natural capital and enhance regulatory ecosystem services in the city.</li></ol>Critical NBS include: re-establishment of wetlands, delineation and restoration of river souurces, rebuilding forest cover, etc.
