Summary (Challenges; Objectives)
The Genhofer Moor is an important high and low moor complex that extends across the district of Oberallgäu. Many years ago, the BUND Naturschutz (BN) bought a piece of land there. Since then, the free areas have been regularly mowed. In the winter of 2012, the BN, under the concept of area supervisor Isolde Miller and in consultation with the Allgäuer Moorallianz and the Lower Nature Conservation Authority increased the free area by deforestation and closed small drainage ditches to keep the water in the area.
